During the Consumer Electronics in Las Vegas, Canon kicked off with their new Legria video cameras, two fixed lens compact cameras and a PowerShot fixed lens G-series camera. By the end of March 2012, all models will be released in Australia.
The new Legria HD video cameras stand out because of its built-in Wifi. The new feature enables recorded footage to be wirelessly sent to a computer or to any television compatible for playback. The footage can also be uploaded in social networking sites which is streamlined through an application in iPhone called “Movie Uploader.”
The standards supported by WiFi are 802.11b/g/n (2.4GHz band) and the Movie Uploader is only available via Apple-OS.
Apart from the Wi-Fi feature, a direct back up to an external hard drive from the video camera is also included. Its image stabilizer is also improved as well as MP4 recording.
These features are present in HFR36, HFM52, and HFR38. These models have an internal memory of 8GB, 32GB and 32GB respectively. The optical zoom can be extended to 51x.
One gadget maker didn’t show up on the gadget show. The iPhone giant is said to have been working silently on its own TV. But TV companies like LG, Samsung Electronics, and Sony are also doing its best to come up with more user-friendly televisions. They are also working on their Wifi TVs to better able to search for music, movies, and other online videos.
According to a Sterne Agee analyst Shaw Wu, the TV went through revolutionary changes, and TV companies are trying to jock out Apple’s position in the market.
