Laura Kaeppeler Bags Miss America Crown

Miss America’s personal advocacy helped her win the pageantA 23-year old beauty and brains from Kenosha, Wisconsin was crowned Miss America 2012. The beauty queen took home the crown after belting out her opera voice and strutting her sexy body in a white bikini and a black beaded gown.

Laura Kaeppeler also showed her wits in answering the question on whether beauty queens should announced their political inkling.

Kaeppeler said beauty contestants and contests like Miss America represent everyone. This is the same as political candidates which also represent every entity in the society. In these economic times, Miss America needs to look for what the country needs and represent it all.

With all these, Kaeppeler won a $50,000 scholarship and the title for a year. Running in second was Oklahoma Betty Thompson.  Kaitlyn Monte of New York placed third.

The newly crowned Miss Universe holds the advocacy of providing support and guide to children of imprisoned parents. This is a topic close to her heart..

Jaeff Kaeppeler, Laura’s father was imprisoned for 18 months for mail fraud.  When Laura told her family she will using it as a personal topic, the whole family gave their support despite knowing it will eventually be discussed in public.

She said that her whole year as Miss America will not be focused on her father’s story, rather it will be a time to help children who had the same fate as hers to learn how to look forward and move on to the future.

Having her as an example, will surely help and encourage more than two million children who have parents in jail.
