Samsung has unlikely released the kernel source code for their much awaited Galaxy Tab 7.7 having the first Super AMOLED Plus HD Display. The device was first announced in September 2011. Since then, there were no updates heard from the impressive slate. Many are hoping the new Galaxy Tab will be officially launched at CES next week.
After seeing the tablet last year at IFA, it was immediately removed from the showroom. Fortunately, it was seen in some few sites ready for pre-order. This may be a sign that it will finally be launched within February-March 2012.
The device has a 7.7 inch that tab displays on a 1280×800 resolution. It is equipped with 1.4 GHZ dual-core process ad 1GB of RAM. Its operating system is Android 3.2 Honeycomb and the 1.4 GHZ Samsung chip.
Meanwhile, Acer has unveiled its Android-based Iconia Tab A200 on a 10.1-inch display. It comes in 2 models: an 8GB Wi-Fi only model ad and 16GB Wi-fi only version. The prices are $330 and $350 respectively. The new model is in addition to Acer’s tablet line-up having the 7-inch Iconia Tab A100 on the list. The prices are definite indicators that tablet price are dropping in the market.
