Useless “jobs” bill to cost $80 billion
Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell: “We are talking about a roughly $80 billion package”. Meanwhile, Derek Thompson predicts what will happen:
Republicans will ask if Obama’s willing to consider an across-the-board tax cut. He’ll say no, because he doesn’t think it will create jobs and he knows it will add significantly to the deficit. Then Republicans will say they couldn’t reach a deal, Obama will have to build a job creation bill with Democrats only, and Republicans will counter every proposal with: “This is more of the same old failed policies from Democrats, who are spending our way into a bottomless hole and tragically burdening on our children with debt without doing a thing create jobs.”
The real solution to the almost 20% underemployment number is very simple and straight forward: just get rid of government regulations! Without the need to jump through the countless hoops, mployers will start hiring in no time.
That’s not what’s going to happen, unfortunately. Instead, the thugs calling themselves the United States Federal Government are going to steal (at least) 80 billion dollars from producers and subsidize failing industries. Just like the first “stimulus”, this won’t work. At all.
